WELCOME!
Welcome to the East Ocean View Civic
League’s web site! With this web site you will
be able to access past meeting minutes plus
other pertinent information regarding the East
Ocean View community.
We meet the first Thursday of every month
(sometimes we break for summer in July and
August) at the East Ocean View Recreation
Center at the end of 20th Bay Street off of E.
Ocean View Avenue. Our meetings start
promptly at 7:00 pm and last about an hour.
We usually have a guest speaker to bring us up
to date on issues affecting our community and
city. Past guest speakers have included:
Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim, Delegate Paula
Miller, 87th House District; our City Council
members, Barclay Winn and Randy Wright;
and a host of city officials. We also have the
police at our meetings to bring us up-to-date
information on community policing.
If you are new to East Ocean View or have
been here awhile, we would love to have you
attend one of our meetings. If you live in East
Ocean View (from 1st Bay Street – Pretty
Lake to Chesapeake Bay – to Little Creek Road
– Chesapeake Bay to Redmon Road) you are
welcome to join our group every month. To
be a full member you must either be a resident
owner or have resided in E.O.V. for at least
one year. Non-residents are welcome to be
associate members. While associate members
may not vote on any issues, they will be kept
up to date on monthly e-mails on meeting
announcements and will receive a copy of our
meeting minutes from our Secretary. We
welcome guests at any meeting.
